Has your Doctor recently told you that you need to go on the Mediterranean Diet ASAP? Mine did. But what is it and why is it a better alternative to eating most of a pie in one sitting? The Mediterranean Diet harnesses the traditional way of eating and highlights foods that are consumed in the countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea. With an emphasis on olive oil, vegetables, and fish (with the occasional red meat dish or dessert), the M.D. retrains us to develop Healthy Eating Patterns without sacrificing many of the flavors we love most! I PROMISE you will not know you’re eating “diet” food! This is a hands-on class. This class is taught in our 2x4 format – we’ll split up into groups of 2 and each twosome will tackle one recipe.
On the menu:
- Kofte Kebab with Toasted Pita, Spicy Tomato Sauce, Yogurt, and Pine Nuts
- Stewed Lamb with Eggplant Bechamel
- Roasted Cornish Game Hens with Bulghur and Walnuts
- Biber Dolmasi (Stuffed Peppers with Lamb, Rice, and Currants)
