Cayenne Chile Powder

This chile is native French Guiana, and is moderately hot. Though this chile can also be found in varieties that are purple or yellow, red is the predominant color for everyday use. Normally ground to a powder, Cayenne is used all over North, Central, and parts of South America to give foods a spicy kick! Before the Cayenne found use in the Culinary realm, they were first used as a medicinal remedy for toothaches by the Ancient Incans and Aztecs!
