Ancho Chile Powder

Hailing from Puebla Mexico, Ancho Chiles are actually dried Poblano peppers. Whereas Poblano peppers are picked while green, for an Ancho the pepper is left on the vine to ripen before it is picked and dried. With its smoky, sweet, and earthy flavor, Ancho Chiles are great for salsa (sauce). Used widely across the Southwestern US and Mexico this chile has a wonderful mild flavor.
