Japones Chile

Native to Mexico, this chile ended up in Japan and China due to exploration and trade. Also known in Japan as the Hontaka chile, yet another name for this chile is "Fire Bringer". Though most commonly known as Japones (Japanese Pepper), this chile goes by another name, the Tianjin chile. This is the chile that gives China's Szechuan and Hunan Cuisines their signature, unapologetic spiciness! While only a few inches long, and relatively thick skinned, this chile lacks notable flavor and isn't much but HOT!
