Beginner’s Cooking Series with Cortney
Open for ages 15 & Up
This new series is for the beginning cook who would like to learn more about food, cooking and how to learn new skills to make your time in the kitchen more fun! If you have ever been too nervous to take a cooking class to learn how to cook, this is the series for you! Cortney will walk you through beginning techniques, tips and recipes with patience and understanding. We all have to start somewhere – and this is your chance! We will also be focusing in on knife skills in each and every class so that you can leave feeling comfortable with the sharpest tools in your kitchen. So, take a chance, make a change and join us in the kitchen! Each class has been structured to give you a comprehensive, well-rounded education that will help you on your journey. Each week we will focus on a full menu of items that will not only teach you techniques, but will also give you recipes that you can feel confident replicating at home. This is a hands-on class.
Week 1:
Pizza Party
- Caesar Salad/Homemade Croutons/Homemade Dressing
- 2-Ingredient Pizza Dough/Pizza Sauce/Topping Bar
- Tiramisu
Week 2:
Taco Week
- Esquites Corn Salad (Like Mexican Street Corn, salad style!)
- Chicken Tinga Tacos/Salsa/Topping Bar
- New Mexico Apple Crostada/Whipped Cream
Week 3:
Grill Night
- Grilled Steak/Compound Butter (Chicken can be substituted for red meat)
- Veggie & Potato Skewers/Marinade
- Classic Crème Brulee/Macerated Berries
